This hands-on workshop features 10 creative workstations designed to strengthen your understanding of camera and lens functions.  Each station offers a unique photographic challenge, including Macro, In-Camera movement, High-Speed techniques, Water Droplet photography, and other special-effects setups.  Tripods and cable releases are encouraged to help you get the most from each experience.

Work at your own pace as you explore the stations.  Every setup includes a step-by-step guide to help you achieve the image you’re aiming for; assistance will be available throughout the workshop to support you along the way.

Alan Duff

By career, Allan Duff is a retired Senior Vice President with Morgan Stanley where I worked for 43 years, but I am a photographer by passion.  His father was an avid photographer, and Allan has enjoyed photography since he was a child.  He has changed with the technology of photography and over the years has transitioned from film and darkrooms to completely digital today.  Allan grew up in Southern California but lived with my family in Las Vegas for 46 years.  He has 4 married children and 14 grandchildren.

Allan served as President of the Nevada Camera Club for two years and as Program chair for 4 years and continue to serve as a judge for photo competitions.  He loves all types of photography and describes his passion for photography as an “Addiction to the Click”. His favorite subjects are landscape, nature, wildlife and action.

Ed Stiglitz

Edward Stiglitz is the current President of the Nevada Camera Club.  This is his fifth term in office.  This award-winning photographer has been teaching workshops and lectures for over 20 years on Astrophotography, Light Painting, and Close-up Photography.  His favorite images to create are Special Effect images.  Defined as images that require extensive technical ability.  His photography has been shaped by decades of exploring the Nevada desert and discovering remote corners of the American Southwest.  Ed enjoys making solar filters and is learning how to use his new Benro Star Tracker.

“This year marks the 50th anniversary of the Canon AE-1 – the very camera I bought from B&C Camera in downtown Las Vegas when it first came out.  That moment sparked a passion that’s carried me through more than half a century behind the lens.”
