“Getting Things Wrong in All the Right Ways”

Plenty of tips and techniques promise a path to great images, but there is more in the secret sauce that can’t be gained through following instructions. In this liberating session Erin Babnik shares a lighthearted and candid look at how well-intended guidance can become a creative leash or even keep you from clicking the shutter at all. Using personal anecdotes and examples from her own work, Erin points out the most common pitfalls of perfection that can keep photographers from creating their best work. Join us for an exploration of what happens when you move beyond getting things “right” and embrace the idea that creativity is a messy place.
